Episode Summary & Review
Summary
After a startling radio broadcast grants Mustang’s forces the advantage over Central’s troops, the Flame Alchemist unleashes the brutal power of burning hatred in the battle against the killer of Maes Hughes.
Our Take
This is a cathartic, ugly hour, and it earns both of those words. Mustang burning Envy is staged with real fury, and watching the smug little monster get reduced to panic is satisfying in a way the show usually avoids. The pacing is tight and the emotional weight of Hughes’s murder finally pays off. Worth your time, even if it’s more payoff than story.
