Summary
Ed and Al furiously battle the Fifth Laboratory’s psychotic guards. In the chaos, the truth behind the Philosopher’s Stone is buried beneath rubble – and disturbing new questions are unearthed.
Our Take
A mostly action-driven episode that trades mystery for fists, and it mostly works because the two lab guards are genuinely unsettling in a way the show hasn’t managed before. The big reveal about the Stone gets a bit buried, literally and dramatically. Still, the pacing is tight and the ending raises questions worth sticking around for. A solid middle chapter, nothing more.
