The Viking army causes panic in the English countryside as King Ecbert and Aethelwulf plan the defense of the realm.
Our Take
A slow-burn hour that spends most of its time positioning pieces for the big clash, and mostly gets away with it because the dread in the English countryside feels genuinely earned. Bjorn’s Mediterranean detour continues to drag, though. Worth watching for the Ecbert scenes alone, but temper your expectations for action.
