Summary
After a high profile mission goes awry, Boimler is further plagued with self doubt when Mariner proves herself to be a more naturally talented sci-fi badass than he. Rutherford quits his job in engineering and explores other departments on the U.S.S. Cerritos.
Our Take
A loose, hangout-style episode that leans on Mariner effortlessly outclassing Boimler while he spirals, and Tawny Newsome sells the dynamic well even when the jokes get repetitive. Rutherford’s department-hopping subplot is thinner but gives us a fun tour of the ship. Light on stakes, heavy on charm, and easy enough to sit through.
