Episode Summary & Review
Summary
Niska finally gets his revenge on Mal when his men find him and Wash on a planet. Nothing would please Niska more than to see them suffer right in front of him. Back at Serenity, Zoe and the crew decide to mount a daring rescue to get their friends back.
Our Take
A grim, nasty hour that shows how much this crew will bleed for each other, and it earns every bit of it. The torture scenes get genuinely uncomfortable, but the payoff, Zoe’s choice and Mal and Wash bonding through shared misery, lands hard. Alan Tudyk gets his best material of the season here. One of the stronger episodes, even if Niska chews a little too much scenery.
