Summary
The Professor attempts to create lab grown meat so Fry can compete in the world hotdog eating championship.
Our Take
A goofy, fast-moving opener that leans into gross-out sci-fi rather than sentiment, and it mostly works. The lab meat premise gives the Professor plenty of mad-scientist material and the jokes land at a better clip than most recent premieres. It sags a bit in the middle stretch but the eating contest payoff is worth it. A fun, low-stakes way to kick off the season.
