Summary
To his surprise, Brockmire and Jules are invited to attend an annual broadcaster’s dinner. Brockmire finally makes peace with Joe Buck and has a breakthrough realization. Charles attempts to impress a girl.
Our Take
A quieter, more reflective episode that mostly trades the drunk-Brockmire chaos for something resembling growth. The Joe Buck reconciliation is genuinely satisfying and Hank Azaria sells the vulnerability, though the Charles subplot feels like filler. It’s a decent breather before the finale, but if you’re here for the filthy one-liners, this hour comes up a little short. Worth watching, just not the season’s best.
