Summary
The owners of a new candy store hope to put The Pie Hole out of business. And when one of the store’s owners turns up dead, Ned is wrongfully charged with murder.
Our Take
A middling entry that leans too hard on the rivalry premise without giving it much bite. The mystery itself is forgettable, and the candy store conflict resolves too neatly, but the show’s visual charm and Kristin Chenoweth’s side moments keep it watchable. Fine if you’re already invested in the season, though it won’t convert anyone.
