Episode Summary & Review
Summary
In this Halloween episode, Emerson and Olive track down a “ghost” who’s been killing the jockeys at the old race arena where Olive used to race as a former jockey herself. With help from Ned and Chuck, they try to solve the big mystery.
Our Take
The Olive focus is welcome since Kristin Chenoweth finally gets material to work with, and her history as a jockey gives the case some genuine emotional stakes. The ghost storyline leans a bit too hard on quirky for quirky’s sake, though the Halloween atmosphere mostly earns it. A fun, slight hour that coasts on charm more than its mystery.
