Dethklok, the greatest death metal band in history and the seventh largest economy on Earth, is so popular that their fans die at concerts and their managers secretly plot the apocalypse. Brendon Small’s metal opera parody is played so straight it loops back around to being a genuinely great metal record with a cartoon attached.
The jokes are dense, the songs rule, and the mythology of the Metalocalypse builds into something genuinely epic. Brutal.
