Summary
With no archrival to combat, Jack sets his sights on a new mission: write the most brilliant philosophy book ever and get out of Toledo for good. Stef and Mary forget a special day for Michele. Helen forgets to order routine maintenance for the copier causing mass hysteria at Whitlock.
Our Take
A fairly typical season opener that leans on Jack’s ego without giving him anything sharp to push against. The copier subplot gets some real laughs once the panic sets in, and Michele’s storyline is sweet if predictable. It’s a decent way to ease back in, but don’t expect the show’s best material here.
