Summary
After his business partner cheats a dangerous client, financial adviser Marty must devise a radical plan to save the lives of himself and his family.
Our Take
A grim, efficient setup episode that gets the Byrdes to the lake in record time, though the pacing feels rushed in spots. Bateman does a lot with quiet desperation, and the pilot murder scene is genuinely tense. Some of the dialogue leans on exposition, but the tone lands immediately. Worth your time if you like slow-burn crime dramas with a cold, blue-grey sheen.
