Summary
Jason learns that only half of the sleep pods work, and he will have to choose who will continue on to maintain the future of Wayward Pines. In the past, Pilcher is forced to choose an alternative when the baby he selects to become the future leader of Wayward Pines dies unexpectedly.
Our Take
This is a talky hour built around two parallel decisions about who deserves a future, and the concept is stronger than the execution. The Pilcher flashbacks finally give Tom Stevens something to do, though the logic gets shaky under scrutiny. It moves the endgame pieces around well enough, but mostly feels like setup for the finale rather than an episode that stands on its own.
