Episode Summary & Review
Summary
As Aemond becomes more volatile, Larys plots an escape, and Alicent grows more concerned about Helaena’s safety. Flush with new power, Rhaenyra looks to press her advantage.
Our Take
A setup episode that knows it’s a setup episode, and mostly gets away with it. The Alicent and Larys scenes carry real tension, and Rhaenyra finally feels like a player again, but the hour drags whenever Aemond glowers at someone new. Worth it for the final few minutes, which promise a proper payoff next season.
