Summary
Jaime encounters a hero; the High Sparrow fixates on another prey; Arya hatches a new plan; Yara and Theon plot their next move; Olenna and Cersei discuss their families’ futures. While Jaime weighs his options, Cersei answers a request. Tyrion’s plans bear fruit. Arya faces a new test.
Our Take
A mixed bag that spends too long shuffling pieces around Riverrun before getting to the good stuff. Arya’s storyline lands its chase scene well after weeks of wheel-spinning, and Cersei’s standoff with the Faith Militant ends on a satisfyingly gruesome note. The Blackfish deserved better than an offscreen exit. Decent table-setting for the finale, just don’t expect the big swings of last week.
