Our Take
This is the episode where Daenerys finally stops being pushed around, and the Astapor sequence pays off everything she’s been setting up with one of the series’ best payoff scenes. The Varys monologue is quietly devastating and gives Peter Dinklage’s quieter scenes room to breathe. Some of the Night’s Watch material drags, but the ending alone makes it a top-tier hour.
