Our Take
A quietly devastating half hour that trades jokes for something much heavier. The Ice King finally gets an episode that treats his loneliness seriously, and the result is uncomfortable in the best way, sad without ever begging for pity. It’s slow and strange, and younger viewers might find it outright creepy. For everyone else, it’s one of the season’s strongest and most affecting outings.
