Episode Summary & Review
Summary
Fionna (the gender flipped version of Finn) puts up with the sudden courtship of Prince Gumball (the gender flipped version of Princess Bubblegum) while taking advice from her partner Cake (the gender flipped version of Jake) in dealing with guys.
Our Take
A fun change of pace that mostly coasts on the novelty of its gender-swapped cast, but the cast is charming enough that it works. The Gumball date scenes drag a bit compared to Cake’s banter, which carries the episode. Worth watching just to see the show poke at its own formulas, and it sets up a recurring alternate universe you’ll be glad exists later.
