Summary

After undergoing a PET-CAT scan and fearing the worst, Walt takes lawyer Saul’s advice and hunkers down for a marathon session of cooking product; Jesse’s romance with his landlady is heating up, but must cool off quickly when he and Walt head for the desert to take care of business.

Our Take

The survival bottle episode: Walt drags Jesse to the desert for a four-day marathon cook, collapses with exhaustion, and strands them when the RV’s battery dies. Days of rationing water and failing starts end with Walt’s chemistry-hero moment: building a battery from scratch — galvanic cells, copper, zinc, the whole freshman-chemistry final — to jump the engine. It’s the show’s thesis in one scene: knowledge is survival. Two actors, one RV, and one of the season’s best hours.
