Summary
While grappling with the fallout of her recent actions, and what her future might hold, Burnham agrees to represent the Federation in an intense debate about the release of politically sensitive, but highly valuable, Burn data.
Our Take
This is a talky episode that leans on political arguing rather than action, and it mostly works because the debates feel like they have real stakes. Burnham gets put through the wringer emotionally, and Sonequa Martin-Green sells every minute of it. The pacing sags in the middle stretch, but the character work makes it worth sitting through.
