Summary
Michael doesn’t tell the staff that he is leaving a day early; Deangelo helps Andy with a big client.
Our Take
A quiet, surprisingly restrained sendoff for Steve Carell, and that restraint is exactly why it lands. The goodbye scenes are handled with real warmth instead of big sentimental gestures, and the airport farewell with Jim is the emotional high point the show earned over seven seasons. The Deangelo and Andy subplot mostly just fills space, but it hardly matters. Worth the time, easily.
