Summary
After another exhausting adventure, Rick and Morty decide they need a vacation. But things go a little haywire when they try a special detox machine.
Our Take
A surprisingly thoughtful half hour hiding inside a gross-out premise. The detoxed versions of Rick and Morty make for some of the season’s sharpest character work, and the toxic Rick stuff is genuinely unsettling rather than just loud. It drags a bit in the middle stretch, but the ending lands hard. Worth your time, especially if you enjoy the show’s darker swings.
