Summary
When the Greendale Glee Club is unexpectedly sidelined, the school’s effervescent choir director Cory Radison sets about recruiting the study group members to fill in. Skeptical at first, they eventually fall under his hypnotic spell – one by-one – singing and dancing their way to the annual Christmas Pageant.
Our Take
Community’s Christmas episodes always go big on concept, and this glee club parody mostly earns it. Taran Killam is genuinely creepy as the chipper choir director, and the songs are surprisingly catchy, though the hypnotized-one-by-one structure gets a bit repetitive. A fun, weird hour that’s worth it for the ending alone.
