Summary
John and Jane are all dressed up with somewhere to go: a sinister black tie event. But first, the Smiths need ground rules at home: NO S-E-X. But when their wily target Eric Shane turns things topsy turvy, will they they be able to set things right? It’s John and Jane’s: SECOND DATE! Bark bark.
Our Take
A fun step up from the premiere, mostly because Donald Glover and Maya Erskine get more room to bounce off each other. The black tie mission gives the episode some style, though the target’s antics go a bit cartoonish near the end. The “no sex” rule does a lot of comedic heavy lifting. Worth your time if you’re already on board.
