Season 4 Review

With the Ring Gates now open to thousands of new planets, a blood-soaked gold rush begins, igniting new conflicts between Earth, Mars, and the Belt. Meanwhile, on one unexplored planet, the Rocinante crew gets caught in a violent clash between an Earth mining corporation and desperate Belter settlers as deadly new threats from the protomolecule emerge.

Season Review

The first Amazon season: Ilus, the alien world with a dead civilization’s infrastructure and a living protomolecule sample, and the Belters’ claim colliding with Earth’s charter. It’s a slower, more claustrophobic season (planet-of-the-week with heavy themes: colonialism, labor, genocide by engineered biology), but the interplanetary standoff resolution and the killer-robots reveal under the planet’s surface are superb. Holden’s increasingly messianic connection to Miller’s ghost-guest pays off beautifully.
