Summary
Megatron gains control of the alien weapon, and plans to use it to conquer Cybertron. The Maximals are forced into an uneasy alliance with Tarantulas in order to stop him.
Our Take
This is a solid payoff to the two-parter, with Megatron at his smuggest once he gets his hands on alien tech. The Maximals and Tarantulas team-up has some fun friction, though the middle stretch gets talky and the alien imagery verges on incomprehensible. Still worth a watch for the escalating stakes and a genuinely menacing turn from Megatron near the end.
