Summary
In the opening episode, Marshall Cuso shows up in NYC with a mushroom that can cure any disease or injury, and bumps into his old classmate, Frances. But what Marshall doesn’t realise is that Frances works for Reutical, a big pharmaceutical company.
Our Take
A strong start that nails its tone right away: paranoid thriller energy mixed with deadpan comedy, and it actually works. The animation style gives everything a slightly off-kilter feel that suits the story, and the pharma conspiracy setup feels urgent without being preachy. Some world-building is rushed in the back half, but the two leads click immediately. Worth your time, easily.
