Our Take
The season five finale goes big, and mostly earns it. The emotional payoffs with Steven and the Diamonds land hard, and the animation pulls out all the stops, though the reconciliation itself feels rushed after seasons of buildup. Still, it’s a satisfying close to the arc and worth the hour, even if you’ll wish it had twice the runtime.
