Steven helps Sadie plan a performance for Beachapalooza.
Our Take
A quiet character piece that finally gives Sadie the spotlight, and it earns it. The mother-daughter tension feels painfully real without turning either woman into a villain, and the musical number lands with genuine warmth. Steven’s role as supportive friend is sweet but a little thin, so the middle stretches a bit. Still, it’s an easy, satisfying hour worth your time.
