Summary
Steven attempts to tame a Gem monster’s wild form when he accidentally releases it from its bubble.
Our Take
A sweet idea with uneven follow-through. The bond between Steven and the little monster lands some genuinely touching moments, and it’s nice to see the show hint that corrupted Gems aren’t just enemies to punch. But the pacing stumbles and the emotional payoff feels rushed compared to later episodes that handle similar material better. Fine, just not essential viewing.
