Episode Summary & Review
Summary
Hale’s history with Hydra is revealed as she tries to convince Coulson to join forces with her. Meanwhile, Fitz asks for his freedom so that he can help find out why Hale wants their leader.
Our Take
A slower, talkier hour that finally gives Hale some real backstory, and it’s about time. The flashback structure works well enough, though the Coulson negotiation scenes drag in places. Worth watching for the Hydra history alone, even if the season’s momentum takes a bit of a nap.
