Episode Summary & Review
Summary
The team discovers what Coulson has been hiding from them, as the monoliths’ explosion causes a rift to a fear dimension that threatens to destroy them all.
Our Take
A milestone episode that leans hard on nostalgia, with a fear dimension serving up callbacks that longtime fans will enjoy more than casual viewers. The Coulson reveal lands emotionally, and Clark Gregg does good work here, but the whole thing feels overstuffed and the resolution comes a bit too easily. Worth it for the character beats, just don’t expect tight plotting.
