Summary
Cal seeks revenge on Coulson by assembling a team of Super Villains to destroy S.H.I.E.L.D. Meanwhile, May calls on renowned Dr. Andrew Garner, her charismatic former husband, with a crisis that threatens to tear the team apart.
Our Take
This one’s a mixed bag. Kyle MacLachlan is clearly having fun assembling his ragtag villain squad, and the family therapy angle with May’s ex gives Ming-Na Wen some good material. But the villain team itself feels underpowered and a bit silly, and the episode spins its wheels between bigger plot beats. Decent character work, just don’t expect the stakes to land hard.
