Summary
While on a mission to learn more about the secrets of the mysterious writing, Coulson finds himself attacked by the only person he can trust: Agent Melinda May. Meanwhile, the rest of the team is trapped in an explosive situation, and it’s up to Fitz to save them — but is he up to it?
Our Take
A solid hour that leans on two things: the Coulson and May undercover mission, which is fun while it lasts, and Fitz’s slow climb back toward competence, which gives the episode its real weight. The May fight is the highlight, though the villain reveal lands with more of a shrug than intended. Worth watching for the character work, even if the plot barely moves.
