Episode Summary & Review
Summary
An amoral, imperialistic version of the Enterprise crew exists in a dark alternate universe. Commander Archer of the Terran Empire Enterprise mutinies against Captain Forrest to investigate an anomaly in Tholian space and capture a future Earth ship. The Star Trek episodes “Mirror, Mirror” and “The Tholian Web” inspire this mirror universe tale.
Our Take
A pulpy, villainous detour that lets the cast play bad, and most of them clearly enjoy it. The retro opening credits sequence is a fun touch, and the Tholian scenes look genuinely creepy. It’s more of a lark than a real story, and the violence gets a bit cartoonish, but it’s an entertaining hour if you go in expecting camp.
