Episode Summary & Review
Summary
The crew joins forces with Vulcan authorities to investigate a deadly bombing of Earth’s embassy, which may be the work of a sect devoted to the logical teachings of Surak, the father of Vulcan philosophy.
Our Take
A solid setup hour that finally gives Enterprise’s Vulcans some real texture instead of the cartoonish scheming we got in earlier seasons. The mystery moves at a decent clip and Soval gets welcome depth, though the desert trek portions drag a bit. It’s mostly table-setting for the trilogy, but the worldbuilding is good enough that you’ll want to see where it goes.
