Summary
When genetically engineered humans left over from the Eugenics Wars hijack a Klingon ship, the Klingons threaten war with Earth. Archer enlists the criminal Dr. Arik Soong, the Augments’ creator and “father,” to help hunt them down.
Our Take
Part one of the Augment trilogy gets things moving with a solid premise and a fun, sleazy Brent Spiner as Soong, clearly enjoying himself. The Orion slave market scenes have some energy, though the action beats feel a bit routine. It’s mostly setup, but the Archer-Soong dynamic is engaging enough to make you want to see where it goes.
