Summary
A pregnant B’Elanna Torres is tormented by memories of an unhappy childhood as a human-Klingon youngster and the toll it took on her family.
Our Take
This is a heavy character hour that puts B’Elanna front and center, and Roxann Dawson does solid work with material that could easily tip into melodrama. The childhood flashbacks land better than the present-day subplot about tampering with the baby, which feels undercooked and resolved too neatly. Worth watching for Torres fans, though the ending softens what should have been a harder conversation.
