Episode Summary & Review
Summary
Seven of Nine discovers an ancient subspace relay network that extends to the Alpha Quadrant. They can send the Doctor through to a Federation ship at the other end, the experimental U.S.S. Prometheus, only to discover that Romulans have taken it over.
Our Take
A fun change of pace that sends the Doctor alone into hostile territory, and Robert Picardo carries it beautifully, playing off a snooty Mark II EMH voiced by Andy Dick of all people. The Doctor gets to be the action hero for once and the banter between the two holograms is genuinely funny. It’s light, fast, and satisfying, easily one of the season’s best hours.
