Episode Summary & Review
Summary
While on their journey home, Voyager is plundered by space pirates, who use a special transporter to steal machinery from passing ships. Captain Janeway and Tuvok pursue them to their homeworld, where the holodeck program of Leonardo Da Vinci helps Captain Janeway get Voyager’s items back.
Our Take
A lightweight caper episode that works better than it should, mostly because John Rhys-Davies clearly has a blast playing Da Vinci. The pirate plot is thin and the plot holes are hard to ignore, but the Janeway and Tuvok pairing gives it some charm. Not essential viewing, though it’s an easy, agreeable hour if you’re in the mood for one.
