Summary
Kes’s telepathic powers increase and she has to make a life changing decision. The Doctor starts to remove Seven of Nines Borg implants, even though she does not want him to, because of her body is starting to reject them.
Our Take
A transitional hour that says goodbye to one character while settling in another, and it handles both better than you’d expect. Jennifer Lien gets a moving sendoff, and watching Seven resist her de-assimilation gives the season its new emotional anchor. It’s quieter than the premiere and occasionally rushed, but the character work earns the runtime.
