Episode Summary & Review
Summary
Tuvok incurs the wrath of Maquis crewmembers when he’s put in charge of a “boot camp” designed to bring them up to Starfleet standards.
Our Take
A solid season one workhorse episode that leans on Tuvok, which is never a bad call. The boot camp friction between Starfleet discipline and Maquis attitude plays out predictably, but Russell and the guest cast sell it well. The B-plot with the ship malfunctions is filler, though. Nothing special, but it’s a comfortable hour if you like the character stuff.
