Episode Summary & Review
Summary
After several crew members are murdered, Ezri reluctantly summons the residual consciousness and personality of her symbiont’s past, the psychopathic Joran Dax, to help her catch the killer.
Our Take
The Ezri and Joran scenes are the whole show here, and Nicole de Boer clearly has fun playing creepy. Watching her enjoy the killer’s mindset a little too much gives the episode a genuine edge. Too bad the actual mystery wraps up in a rush with a motive that doesn’t survive a second of thought. Worth it for the character work, just don’t expect a satisfying detective story.
