Episode Summary & Review
Summary
When Kai Winn is appointed Bajoran First Minister, Kira becomes concerned about Winn’s growing grip on power. However, when the Kai orders Kira to convince her old Resistance leader to return some farming equipment to the government, the situation rapidly descends into a vicious power struggle.
Our Take
A solid political episode that leans on Kira’s history without turning into a clip show. The standoff between her and Winn builds real tension, though the resolution comes a bit too easily and some of the farmer subplot drags in the middle. Nana Visitor and Louise Fletcher play well off each other, which makes this worth a watch even if it’s not essential.
