Summary
An invigorated Sisko returns from Bajor and decides to build a replica of an eight hundred year-old Bajoran lightship, hoping to use it to prove that ancient Bajoran explorers could have made it to Cardassia before developing warp drive.
Our Take
A warm, low-stakes hour that gives Sisko and Jake some genuinely nice father-son time, plus one of the sweetest endings this show ever pulled off. The solar sailing scenes are prettier than anything DS9’s budget usually allowed. It drags a bit whenever the plot machinery creaks, but the character work carries it. Worth watching just for that final reveal.
