Episode Summary & Review
Summary
Pursuing a Maquis raider to an unstable moon, Kira becomes trapped within an expanding crystal formation that threatens to engulf her. Meanwhile, Nog attempts to persuade a skeptical Commander Sisko to write him a letter of recommendation to join Starfleet Academy.
Our Take
The A-plot is a solid ticking-clock affair with a genuinely surprising twist, though the crystal peril stuff gets a bit repetitive. The real heart here is Nog’s Starfleet bid, which sneaks up on you and turns a comic-relief character into someone you actually root for. Worth it for the last few minutes alone.
