Episode Summary & Review
Summary
On an exploration mission to the Gamma Quadrant, the Defiant encounters a unique planet that shifts between corporeal and bodiless dimensions. Back on DS9, Quark attempts to create a new holosuite program.
Our Take
A mostly skippable hour. The planet-shifting premise has a nice sci-fi hook, but it gets buried under a rushed Dax romance that never earns its big farewell. The Quark subplot, with a holographic Kira body double for a creepy client, is played for laughs it doesn’t deserve. Watchable, just forgettable, and the emotional beats don’t land.
