Episode Summary & Review
Summary
When Quark presents Major Kira with an earring belonging to a presumed dead Bajoran Resistance legend, she and Chief O’Brien journey to Cardassia IV in an attempt to free him from from a slave labour colony. Meanwhile, an extremist Bajoran faction known as The Circle continues to agitate tensions on DS9 and Bajor.
Our Take
A solid season opener that mostly works as a rescue mission with real tension, and Kira finally getting a story with some personal stakes is welcome. The B-plot with The Circle feels like setup for later, so parts of the hour drag while pieces get moved into place. Worth watching, especially since it kicks off a three-parter.
