Episode Summary & Review
Summary
While on a peacekeeping mission to the Peliar system, a Trill ambassador begins a relationship with Dr. Crusher, but when he is injured in a surprise attack, he must confess to the doctor that his body is merely a host for a symbiont..
Our Take
A solid hour built around a genuinely interesting idea, though it leans harder on romance than the sci-fi concept deserves. Crusher sells the emotional dilemma, and the ending doesn’t cheat its way out, which counts for a lot. Some of the diplomacy stuff is filler, but this is still one of the better Crusher-focused episodes of the era.
