Summary
At the end of the trial, Q gives Captain Picard 24 hours to solve the mystery of Farpoint station and save the human race. Picard and his team come to a unusual conclusion about the problems encountered at the way station in space.
Our Take
It’s a shaky start that still shows promise, with Patrick Stewart instantly commanding the screen while the rest of the cast hasn’t found their footing yet. The Q courtroom stuff is theatrical fun, but the Farpoint mystery itself resolves with a lot of talking and not much tension. Worth watching for curiosity and to see where the series began, just temper your expectations.
